About TET / APTET :
*The candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to VIII in schools in Andhra Pradesh for appearance at first Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) to be conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in all 23 Districts of the State.

*APTET / TET is applicable to all candidates who aspire to become teachers of classes I to VIII in the schools of the State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, Private aided schools and Private unaided schools in Andhra Pradesh State. However, the candidates intending to seek employment as a teacher in private unaided schools shall have the option of appearing at CTET conducted by CBSE instead of APTET if they so desire.



Exam & ELIGIBILITY Details:
*The test (TET) will be conducted in 2 papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II

Paper-I ; The candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to V have to appear at Paper-I.

Paper-II; the candidates intending to be teachers for classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper-II.

Paper-I & Paper-II:. The candidates who intend to be teachers for all classes from I to VIII can appear for both papers, Paper-I & Paper-II.



ELIGIBILITY :
Paper-I ;
Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed in 2 - year Diploma in Education

(OR)

Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

(OR )

Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed in 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*

(OR )

B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com with at least 45% marks and B.Ed.

Note: Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Intermediate / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates. Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc/B.Com is admissible for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates.



Paper-II:
B.A. / B.Sc./B.Com and passed in 2 - year Diploma in Education

(OR )

B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com with at least 45% marks and passed in 1 - year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

(OR )

B.A. / B.Sc./B.Com with at least 50% marks and passed in 1 - year B.Ed. (Special Education)*

(OR)

Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

(OR)

Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed 4-year B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed.


Note: Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Intermediate / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates. Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc/B.Com is admissible for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates.


In addition to above, candidates with Language Pandit Training are also eligible. The qualifications are as follows:

Telugu Pandit :
B.A. (Telugu Literature) (or) BA (Oriental Language-Telugu) (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language Telugu (or) a Graduate Degree with optional subject Telugu (or) MA (Telugu) and Telugu Pandit Training Certificate.

Hindi pandit:
A Graduate Degree with optional subject Hindi (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language Hindi (or) Praveen of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha or Vidwan of Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad or any other equivalent recognized qualification in Hindi (BA standard) by the Government of A.P. (or) M.A., Hindi and Hindi Pandit Training Certificate.

Urdu pandit:
BA (Urdu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language Urdu) (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language Urdu (or) Graduate Degree with optional subject Urdu (or) M.A. (Urdu) and Urdu Pandit Training Certificate.

Other Languages (Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Sanskrit, Tamil) :
A Graduate Degree in the Language concerned and Pandit Training in the Language concerned (or Its equivalent)


* A diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.


STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF APTET / TET :
a) All questions in APTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

b) There will be two papers of APTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii)Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

c) A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

d) Paper I (for Classes I to V);

Duration of examination: 2 ½ hours

PAPER - II Syllabus (for classes VI to VIII);
No of MCQs – 150;
Duration of examination: 2 ½ hours.

Structure and Content:
1.Child Development and Pedagogy: MCQs-30, Marks -30

2 Language I: MCQs-30, Marks -30

3 Language II (English): MCQs-30, Marks -30

4 Mathematics and Science :MCQs-60, Marks -60

Social Studies

TOTAL: MCQs-150, Marks -150



Note(i): For Paper II Mathematics & Science section questions will be as follows:

Mathematics: 30 MCQs

Physical Science: 14 MCQs

Biological Science: 16 MCQs

TOTAL: 60


Note(ii): For Paper II Social Studies portion the syllabus will cover the section namely,
History, Geography, Civics and Economics

Geography and Economics: 30 MCQs

TOTAL: 60



Exam centers;
TET will be conducted in identified examinations centres in all the Districts of State as per timings given below:
Paper-I : 9.30 am to 12.00 noon.
Paper-II : 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm




PASS MARKS IN TET:
APTET Results will be declared within 30 days from the date of conduct of test. Candidates who secure the following minimum marks will be declared pass in APTET

i)OC : 60% Marks and above

ii) BC : 50% marks and above

iii) SC/ST and differently abled (PH): 40% Marks and above

Remarks:
Physically Handicapped with atleast 40% handicap only will be considered in respect of Visually Handicapped and Orthopedically Handicapped. With regard to Hearing Impaired, minimum 75% handicap will be considered under PH category.


Validity period of TET certificate / Marks Memo:
APTET certificate / Marks Memo shall be valid for a period of 7 years from the date of issue in accordance with NCTE Guidelines.


WEIGHTAGE FOR APTET SCORES IN TRT:
20% weightage will be given to APTET scores in the ensuing Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) of the State Government i.e., 20% weightage is for APTET and 80% weightage for written test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).


EXEMPTION FROM PASSING TEST:
Teachers who were appointed before NCTE notification, dated 23-08-2010 on selection by District Selection Committee or by competent authority in Govt. / Local Authority as per Recruitment rules prevalent at that time are exempted from appearing at TET Exam. However, teachers working in private schools whose appointment were not approved by competent authority in Government are not exempted from passing TET. Such teachers of private unaided school can appear at TET conducted by either state Government or Central Government. In respect of non approved teachers working in private aided school, they should invariably appear at TET conducted by State Government Only.
