Selection Procedure;
A common Admission Written Test UG–AWT(UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION WRITTEN TEST) will be held .
Admission Written Test centres:
Allahabad, Amritsar, Bathinda, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ludhiana ,
Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi
for NRI'S;
Test (UG – AWT NRI) conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society. All
the admissions are made with the approval of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences,
Punjab;
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR UG AWT;
A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than
50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the
qualifying examination (as per MCI Regulations 1997).
For admission to B.Sc. Nursing and BPT course a Candidate must have passed in the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum
of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2 examination. In
respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes the marks
obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in qualifying examination be
40%.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NRI'S;
A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50%
marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the
qualifying examination (as per MCI Regulations 1997). All candidates applying in NRI
category must also ensure that they have scored 50% marks in English and 50% marks in
the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the class equivalent to 10+2 of the
Indian Boards.
For admission to B.Sc. Nursing & BPT courses a Candidate must have passed in the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a
minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2
examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes,
backward classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in
qualifying examination be 40%.
For candidates applying from boards out of India, the marks sheets have to be
forwarded to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for verification and subsequent
issuance of an eligibility certificate.

Eligibility:
For M.Ch courses an applicant must have obtained a postgraduate degree in
Surgery (MS) from a recognized University / Body as per the requirement of the Medical
Council of India and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab.
For DM course an applicant must have obtained a postgraduate degree in Medicine
or Pediatrics (MD) from a recognized University / Body as per the requirement of the
Medical Council of India and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot,
Punjab.
SELECTION PROCESS:
An eligible applicant will be evaluated as per the schedule given below and the cumulative result
will be the basis of admission. The Total marks will be 170
Admission Test:
a. Theory: This will consist of 100 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each.
There is no negative marking.
i. Paper I - Basic Surgical or Medical related subjects - Max 50 Marks
ii. Paper II - Super-specialty subject - Max 50 Marks
b. Practical- Max: 50 Marks
A Candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the Admission Test
(Theory &Practical Combined) for eligibility, to be considered in the Merit List.
2. Additional Marks- Max: 20 marks
a. Satisfactory Completion of minimum 2 years of Service Obligation (after post
graduation):for every year: 5 marks (supporting documents to be attached along
with application form) - (Max:10marks)
OR
Satisfactory Completion of two years of work in a Government Rural hospital (after
post graduation); certified by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital and
Tehsildar / Village officer / CMO / Director, health Services: for every year: 5 marks
(supporting documents to be attached along with application form).- (Max: 10
marks)
b. Satisfactory completion of work in same Department in CMC Ludhiana (not part of
Service Obligation): for every 6 months: 5 marks (supporting documents to be
attached along with application form) (Max: 10 marks)
MSc. NURSING (24 seats)
Eligibility;
An applicant must have passed one of the following examinations obtaining at least 55% marks in the aggregate.
a) Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh.
