Courses:


UNDER-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES:

(i) Bachelor's Programme in Architecture

Duration: Five Years

Eligibility:Candidates with more than 50 percent marks in aggregate with Mathematics as the subject of examination at 10+2 level are eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Architecture and Planning.

Admission Procedure:Admission will be made through the All Indian Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), strictly on merit, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and reservation of seats as per the approved norms of the School.



(ii) Bachelor's Programme in Planning

Duration:Four Years

Eligibility:Candidates with more than 50 percent marks in aggregate with Mathematics as the subject of examination at 10+2 level are eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Architecture and Planning.

POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES:

(i) Master's Programme in Architecture with specialization in

(a) Architectural Conservation

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Architecture or Planning of a recognized university or equivalent & Candidates with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination (50 percent in respect of SC/ST candidates).



(b) Industrial Design

Eligibility:Candidates with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination (50 percent in respect of SC/ST candidates).



(c) Urban Design

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent & Candidates with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination (50 percent in respect of SC/ST candidates).






(ii) Master's Programme in Planning with specialization in

(a) Environmental Planning

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent



(b) Housing

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Municipal Engineering or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Building Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent.



(c) Transport Planning

Eligibility:Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Civil Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Economics or Statistics or Operational Research from a recognized university, or equivalent



(d) Regional Planning

Eligibility:Bachelor Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent



(e) Urban Planning

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or, Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent






(iii) Master's Programme in Building Engineering and Management

Eligibility:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Building Science from a recognized university or equivalent, and also Five Year Diploma in Construction Technology from any recognized University or Institution established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.



(iv) Master's Programme in Landscape Architecture

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent, or Master’s degree in planning or equivalent postgraduate diploma of recognized university/ institution or equivalent, or Certificate of completion of Pre-Landscape Architecture Course of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi



(V)Master in Industrial

Eligibility:Bachelor degree in Architecture from a recognized university or equivalent



DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES:

Ph.D. degree in the fields of

Architecture,
Physical Planning,
Urban Planning,
Regional Planning,
Environmental Planning,
Housing,
Transport Planning,
Urban Design,
Architectural Conservation,
Landscape Architecture,
Industrial Design and Building Engineering
Management.


Eligibility:
Master's Degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning or Environmental Planning or Housing or Transport Planning or Landscape Architecture or Urban Design or Architectural Conservation or Building Engineering and Management or Industrial Design conducted by the School, or equivalent from any other recognized university or institution with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks;

(or)

Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Architecture of the School or its equivalent from any other recognized university or institution with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks and five years experience in teaching, research or professional practice.

Relaxation in the aggregate marks specified above may be made in case of exceptionally qualified applicants.


Reservation of seats for SC/ST Candidates:
Reservations will be applicable as per rules of the Govt. of India.

Admission Procedure::
Proposed Department of Study Broad area of research including nature, objectives and scope of the subject, and tentative title
Other particulars that the applicant may like to furnish regarding the choice of the subject and its importance for research
Name of the faculty advisor of her choice, if any

Head of the concerned Department of Studies shall process the application of candidates possessing the prescribed qualifications through the DRC. After scrutiny of applications candidates found eligible will be invited to appear for an interview. After interviewing the candidates, the DRC shall make its recommendations to the Dean of Studies covering the following aspects:

*That research on the proposed subject can be profitably pursued
*That research work can be appropriately undertaken in the concerned Department of Studies
*That the candidate possesses requisite qualifications and competencies for the proposed research
*That the name of the faculty advisor for the applicant, preferably from the concerned Department of Studies, or from another Department of Studies, or Centre or Unit in the School has been identified
*That the name of the external advisor (s), in addition to the internal faculty advisor, has been identified, if deemed necessary
*That specific course (s), other than the essential and optional courses prescribed for the doctoral programme, which the candidate shall pursue and satisfactorily complete within the first three semesters of registration are identified

The Dean of Studies shall receive the recommendations of the DRC and place the applications before the CDP for its final decision on the admission of candidates to the Ph.D. programmes. Names of the advisor (s) and the course to be pursued by the candidates shall be finalized. Candidates approved by the CDP will be registered for Ph.D. Programmes on payment of prescribed fees and deposits and completion of other formalities.
