Eligibility:
Admission to M.Phil. Programs is open to students who;

hold at least a second class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with 55 % or more marks.

(i) has passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination with at least 50 % marks
(ii) has passed Intermediate Examination with at least 50 % marks

OR

Passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination and Intermediate Examination with second division separately in each examination but with an aggregate of 55 % marks in Bachelor’s Degree Examination



Admission Procedure;
Admission will be based on an Entrance Examination followed by an Interview.

There will be one paper followed by personal interview. The question paper will contain three sections,
Section - A will contain 30 objective questions of multiple choice (single correct answer) based on general awareness ,mental ability and reasoning.
Section – B will contain 50 multiple choice questions related to the subject area of M.Phil. Program.
Section – C is for testing comprehension and writing skill.

Note-1 :There shall be no negative marking.

Note-2: The candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR (JRF) examination/ NET/ SLET/ Valid GATE or are holder of teacher fellowship are exempted from the Entrance Test. However, they are required to appear for personal interview.

No separate intimation regarding the Entrance Test will be issued.

For teachers and for the candidates from industry, theory classes shall be organized during weekends.

Successful M.Phil. students will be given preference for direct admission to Ph.D. Programme.

Candidates with teaching experience would be preferred.

Girl candidates / Wards of Defence Persons/ Candidates from J&K and North East States shall be given an additional weightage of 5%.

The University reserves the right to withheld / withdraw any offered program, if minimum stipulated number of candidates are not selected.
