Eligibility for TANCET;
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Exam (TANCET) is conducted for admission into Master’s level program in Business Administration, Computer Application, Engineering, Architecture, Technology and Planning. Following is the ability for various courses.

For MBA
The candidates, who possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline in 10+2+3/4 pattern or 10+3 (Diploma) + 3 patterns from a recognized university, are eligible.

For MCA
The candidate must have completed graduation in any field with mathematics as a subject of study at 10+2 level. The candidates, who have studied Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s level, are also eligible for entrance exam.

For M.E. /M. Tech/M. Arch. /M. Planning
The candidates with Bachelor’s degree in their respective field that is B.E. /B. Tech/B. Arch/B. Planning are eligible.


Examination Pattern;
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Exam (TANCET) is one of the popular competitive entrance examinations of the state. The examination pattern is different for different programs.

MCA Examination Pattern;
The entrance examination exams the applicant’s knowledge in four sections- Quantitative ability, Analytical reasoning, Logical reasoning, and Computer awareness. Questions related to basic science and verbal activity could also be expected.

M.E/M. Tech Examination Pattern ;
The exam usually includes questions from mathematics, basic engineering and science and area the aspirant desires to specialize in.

MBA Examination Pattern ;
The entrance exam includes five sections examine the applicant’s English (Grammar, Punctuation etc), data interpretation, mathematics, comprehension skills.

MBA/MCA Examination Pattern;
The question paper consists of number of multiple-choice objective questions. Four alternatives will be there for every question, the aspirant is required to mark the correct answer form the available options with under required instruction. Every right answer will award the applicant with one mark and one-fourth of the total marks allotted for a question will be deducted from the total scored for every wrong answer. The aspirants are required not to attempt the question if they are not sure of the correctness of the question. No marks will be deducted for not attempting the question. The total duration of entrance test will be of two hours.
